The logo, trophy, jersey and anthem of the CM Trophy (Under-15) Football Championship 2025 were officially unveiled today at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar by Sports and Youth Services Minister Shri Suryabanshi Suraj.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Shri Suraj emphasized that the CM Trophy initiative is a significant step towards nurturing grassroots level sporting talent in Odisha. He stated that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, is committed to identify and promote young sporting talent.
The CM Trophy 2025 is being organized jointly by the Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha and the Football Association of Odisha.
The first phase of the tournament, held from 16th January to 19th April this year, witnessed the participation of 271 football clubs and over 5,000 players from across all districts of the state.The zonal level (second phase) of the championship is scheduled to take place from 28th May to 5th June, 2025. Teams selected from the districts will be grouped into four zones such as Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar and Berhampur, to compete for a place in the state level final round.
The three-phase tournament structure, district, zonal and state, aims to provide a robust platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and talent. “This championship will be instrumental in identifying exceptional talent from the grassroots level. The newly launched anthem beautifully captures the energy, passion and commitment of young athletes. The Government is committed for the overall development of Sports and athletes in the state”, said Minister Shri Suraj.
Football Association of Odisha Secretary Shri Ashirbad Behera, Principal Secretary of Sports and Youth Services Department Shri Bhaskar Sarma, Director Shri Deepankar Mohapatra, Additional Secretary Shri Bijay Kumar Swain and Joint Secretary Shri Bijayananda Nayak were present in the event.
